power of attorney rates

What would happen if an elderly person already had money in a long term fixed rate product --would it continue to run if a poa was suddenly needed to be registered?
Im wondering too, if savings rates for people under the poa are dismal and not widely offered?

POA makes no difference to the accounts, it only changes who is allowed to administer them. Anything done by an Attorney is the same as if done by the original saver.

The only way that I think POA would affect rates is if a financial institution refused to offer certain accounts to attorneys. For example some financial institutions don't allow attorneys online access to accounts.
