The perceived "lack of supply" in the South could just have a reason of course - ie many areas are now "full up" and can't take any more people (at least not whilst maintaining the quality of life for those already living there).
You would have to live in some areas of the south to know the level of opposition there is to housebuilders grabbing yet more land to build on...0
