    Morning all :)

Just popping in to say hello, only dailies happening here as DD's both on school holidays until next week so we're completely in holiday mode :D Still all in our pjs here this morning, except DH who is at work. It's going to be a shock to get up and out for school next week  Not to mention the amount of detailed cleaning that I will need to get on with; the house is clean and tidy at a glance so long as DD2 doesn't decide to draw in the dust I'll get away with it until next week :rotfl:

Must go and get dressed and organised; not sure what to do today... DD1 is going out with friends so DD2 and I need to put our heads together and make a plan... so far this week she's had different friends over each day and we've been to two different big parks, swimming, the cinema and had a sleepover, and it's only Thursday! Maybe we'll hang out at home and do some baking....

Coffee finished so must get on; will have a read of the thread later as haven't caught up for the last day or two... I hope everyone is well.

    Cake x
    :)

Do any of the dog-owners here feel the same as me, that it's not quite as bad if it's from your own dog? (Or in my case, my current guest). I don't know why this should be, I'm sure it's purely psychological.:o There, that's a long word for a Wednesday evening!

My view is that when it's your own dog, you know it's your responsibility and that is what you accept and understand when you make the decision to have a dog. In effect, if a person can't bear to pick the stuff up or they're too lazy, they shouldn't get a dog.

I also think that we're lucky enough to live somewhere that has open spaces where dogs are allowed to run and roam off lead, and the upkeep of which is funded by ratepayers, if we don't pick up, there will be a blanket ban on all dog's freedom. I live near a public park in a tourist town and there are pooh bins by every single exit but there are people who still don't pick up after dogs. It really doesn't matter if they're visitors or locals, that's not an argument that solves the problem. I am as repulsed by dog pooh as anyone else, but if I see it, and I have spare pooh bags on me, I pick it up. I also pick up litter when I'm out dog-walking and always, always, always pick up glass bottles - because if I don't, they will get broken and Dog will get glass in her paws. The very few times I didn't do it, broken glass fragments lay there for months until the rain washed them away.
    Better is good enough.

    Hello

    Just having a :coffee: :D

Kiddies decluttered with gramps, he says he will take them on a train, or to the farm, they can choose. DS said "how about a train to the farm" :rotfl: you gotta admire the logic...

I've painted the hallway ceiling and the sloping bit above the stairs with my roller on a pole. Most of woodwork is done too, and apparently I can't have my children back till Saturday  so it looks like I will get my decorating finished. I might hang up my brushes then, and retire from DIY. :D

Although, after taking my door curtain down, I have taken the curtail pole outside and the brackets and sprayed them white. I'm not putting the curtain back until autumn so the pole will blend in better white than pine... Hallway looking brighter already. Even in today's dull dull dullity <makes up new word>

Mumto5 I always start with pain in ear and jaw when I'm getting tonsillitis. Might be something to watch out for...

The frog population hereabouts is being drastically reduced;)

Just easy little jobs that took minutes but I have been putting off for no good reason.

    Off to post letters now.

  • Hi there

Back in again - I didn't get chance to post yesterday - but was very busy shopping and cleaning again for sick friend. I took him a nice lunch and stayed longer, as it's his birthday today, but I'm working soon and can't go today. I then did shopping for us and sorted some paperwork.

Today I've thoroughly cleaned the place again and OH hoovered through and did a couple of technology jobs, as our friends who came to us last weekend are due back again tomorrow late am. We'll just have a quick S&S round tomorrow, after our showers, then pop to the local T@sco and bakery for something special for a brunch.

They'll be gone by Saturday so I intend to chill out over the rest of the weekend! I've been very proactive and all washing and washing up has been done each day, so have no backlog of chores. More reading and gaming I hope!!

Good health wishes to all the poorly flyladies and their families, there seems to be a lot of sickness about at the moment, so all good wishes and vibes to you.

    Good flying, R x.

Thanks Mrs Moneypenny and Good Intentions, I've looked on the net about it and will get DD to delete it when she gets home xx
I've only just been catching up with the Fred, and I don't know a lot about apps (I only have a "dumb" phone):D but I'm glad you're getting DD to get rid of it; imho you just can't be too careful where personal info is concerned, and sadly, there are some evil folks out there.

HB I agree entirely with your post re dog poo - and glass bottles (people who leave those lying around should be made to walk barefoot over broken glass and see how they like it!)

I managed to get the bathroom scrubbed yesterday:T - rubber gloves over my splints to do the loo; takes a lot longer than it used to, but at least it's nice and fresh now.

We have Mr LW's pal coming over this evening - I hope he's impressed with out newspaper "carpet".:D

The back lawn could use cutting again, but I don't think I'm going to be able to do it this time, and Mr LW has to monitor the systems for work all weekend. HE's on early shift and wfh on Monday though, so if it's nice, he can do it Monday afternoon.;)

Anyways, it's time to put Mary outside for a wee, then give her some lunch, so I'd better go and see to that next.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Hi all and thanks for the healing vibes. I had hoped to go to work today, but after a poor night's sleep I decided not to. Fortunately the swelling on my face is reducing gradually although it's still very sore and tender at times. No chance of putting my contacts in yet, but the glasses are ok so far although I wouldn't like to have risked driving. I had a long soak in the bath this morning, book and coffee on the side and feel a whole load better now. I have managed:
    Stripped bed
    Washing machine on
    Dishwasher emptied
    Upstairs waste baskets emptied
    Bath and basin cleaned
Kitchen floor swept (promise of mopping later)

I've also got a mixed list of stuff for this afternoon - ranging from paperwork to house stuff. OH just emailed to ask if I had thought of anything I feel like doing on my birthday, so better devote some thoughts.

Recycling the healing vibes to all who need them.
