BT Online Fault Report

Can anybody tell me how long it usually takes BT to contact you when you report a fault through their website?

I reported it yesterday at 4.30PM &, apart from an email acknowledging the fault report & a text message update stating "fault investigation underway", I have heard nothing. Do I need to phone them to find out what's going on or will they contact me?

Please help.
Thanks

P.S. The fault tracking bit of their site is showing at Diagnostic Test Centre. It was on that when I checked about 30 minutes after reporting it yesterday.

Had to report a fault for my Dad a few weeks back, he is in his 80's and the phone is his life line.

I was told the repair would be 3 days or more and then I asked if it was possible to have a priority service as he lives in sheltered housing, don't think he got any but the repair was completed in the time scale they mentioned 3 - 5 days.

I think they may be having the odd system glitch - I had a fault sorted a couple of weeks ago which seems to have resurrected itself. I had a text yesterday saying my fault had been logged, and 3 today telling me they'd found it, scheduled it, then closed it...

They normally schedule repairs if a fault is found next working day (Monday to Friday) - I'd either log the fault again or give them a call.

Dont forget you can get comensation for a fault if line is off to long and you dont agree to the divert.

And if it goes wrong again in a short time the time is from the original fault not the current one.

The compensation is not as good as it was a few years back, then I had compensation of £125.

For more information look in your phone book, it is there.
