Not sure if Ive explained that well but sometimes when you have to reply to emails from companys you follow the link. When I do that I get my BILs name and his old email address at freeserve and I cant see a way of changing it. Also when I install any new programms it always comes up with his name and I dont know where its hiding. thanks.

For the email problem assuming you are using Outlook Express to send / receive emails, Open Outlook Express, go to Tools > Accounts > Mail, click on the email address that has (default) beside it then click the Properties button. On the general tab, you will see a box near the bottom with a From name. Change it if necessary.
To change the name of the registered owner and organisation, if you are comfortable editing the registry, see the link below -

If you are not, go to the link below and follow the instructions to download and run the .exe file -

Open Outlook Express, go to Tools > Accounts > Mail. then just highlight and click remove, any accounts that are not yours.Get some gorm.0

Sorry - where do I find Outlook Express. I usually just click on the E sign for internet then go to hotmail?0

There should be an envelope icon in the top menu bar. Just click that and it takes you there. Otherwise, click Start, then look at the list of programmes.

Hi,
I think previous posters thought you were using Outlook Express, but as you're using Hotmail, click Options and have a look in there, or try the help menu.0 -
What's happening is you're receiving emails from companies, clicking the link to reply and it's loading your email program - Outlook or Outlook Express - on your local pc. As you're using web based email - Hotmail - you can't reply by clicking the link.
If you wanted your name to come up instead of your bIL's then you'd need to get an email address with your internet service provider and then configure Outlook / Outlook Express with your email details.0 -
thanks everyone. think I am sorted now.
