My OH's cousin lives with her family in Newport Pagnell MK16, the Thomas Drive area. Both of them work in MK so commute must be quite straight forward.

Blakelands (where the OP will be working) is literally right next door to Newport Pagnell.

I've lived in MK since '95 and have lived in Two Mile Ash, Bradwell Common, Newport Pagnell and now Medbourne.

Medbourne is by far my favourite; I generally prefer that side of MK as it is quieter further away from the M1. I work on the other side of MK and it can 20 minutes to get to work on a bad day but I don't consider that enough of an issue to move to the other side.

Newport Pagnell is great, I loved living there but despite it being about the same distance to my place of work as Medbourne, it would take me much longer because it's just so much busier over there.

Edited to add: I just had a look at mk_78's list of estates and was puzzled by the 'NO' next to Broughton but actually I don't think I would. In fact, I didn't, I chose my current property over one in Broughton because despite the fact that it's a nice estate it's so much busier round there.

Also, check out the https://www.police.uk crime map...it's an eye opener even if you think you know MK really well ;-)

It is great to be at Milton, but it can be quite expensive finding accommodation at centralized location. For a beginning it is better to look for some cost effective accommodation and later you can adjust according to your requirements.
