Sky tv blank screen

I hope I've put this on the correct board, feel free to move if not.
I've had somebody here doing decorating & they left a little while ago. I know they pulled what I believe is the outside aerial wire out before moving the tv & sky box to get to wall behind it & replaced it when finished.
Now, sitting down to watch tv I find I can't get sky at all, there are none of the sky pages including services showing on the screen. Any help files I've looked at seem to suggest I really should have at least something other than a blank blue screen saying no signal imput, so none of the resetting tips they have given have worked as there seems to be no connection to sky present & I can't access services page.
So I've come here for help. The aerial wire when plugged back in by decorator was plugged into the aerial socket on tv should this be relevant & I only mention this as decorator didn't seem sure of where it had been unplugged from. The decorator moving the tv & sky box may all be a sheer co-incidence with me now not being able to receive sky, but I'm reluctant to call out an engineer without being certain that I've been able to do what I can to remedy the situation.
Grateful thanks to anybody who can advise. I didn't realise how much I depended on my hd box & the choice of recorded programmes I've got stored on it.

The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

The aerial wire is irrelevant to Sky.
Check that the feeds from the dish ( two if you have Sky +)are connected securely to your Sky box. You should also have either a Scart or HDMI cable between the TV and the Sky box. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Sounds like an improvement.0

Check that there are 2 white cables placed into dish input 1 & dish input 2 at the back of HD box. If not switch box off. Insert cables into inputs & switch box back on.0

No signal input means your TV is not getting the signal form the Sky box.
Make sure you have the correct input selected on the TV.
Check the cable that goes from the Sky box to the TV is pushed firmly into the socket on both ends.

Thanks to those here that have given advice. I've tried all that has been suggested but still no sky access so I guess I need to give them a call. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I'm certain it will be a simple cable connection which has been pulled out by your decorator.0 -
I'd already tried all suggestions on sky help pages to no avail.
Anyway, tried ringing them & it seemed I'd have to wait about 20 mins to get to speak to somebody so decided to give live help a go instead to avoid running up my phone bill.
Thankfully problem now sorted. Not sure exactly what had caused it as I didn't have to do much that was different to what people here had already advised & I'd tried, but am happy I'm up & running once again as far as sky is concernedThe bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
