Neighbours noisy dogs

This has been ongoing for years. There are 2 dogs that bark intermittently through the day with long quiet spells in between. 2 owners, with one owning a yappy and the other a large one. It seems that any sound triggers the stupid animals into a barking frenzy which quite frankly has got my nerves in shreds because I can't enjoy my garden without having to have my Walkman on loud enoug to drown it out. As it is not constant I doubt there is anything that can be done. It's also awkward because one owner is a very nice lady and the other is our paper shop who again is friendly. I don't want to approach them as its awkward and I don't like confrontations but I see no way round this other than either moving or reporting it. The latter I don't think would be interested anyway as its not constant which makes it worse. I have never understood tha appeal of these. Creatures as all they seem to do is bark and mess. Not that intelligent really. Give me cats any day. Quiet and chilled.

Report it to the council, if you explain its not constant but still a nuisance they will look into it. Should be able to do it without giving your name.0

Cats bury it. Dogs do it in the street and don't bury it. Owners hang little bags of poo in bushes, trees and anything else they can hang it on other than TAKE IT HOME !!!!!
Back on topic, yes I will email the council. It's got beyond a joke.0 -

Only some of them, my cat wouldn't even pee outside, never mind a number 2. She can be out sunbathing all day and come in to her litter tray4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Our cats do their business in our garden which is fair enough.0

If the owners are out during the day, then they may not be aware of the noise issues you are having. Have a word with them first, it may be sorted out quite amicably. Not liking confontation , so reporting them to the council, may make matters so much worse for you, as they will know it was you complaining with a bit of investigation.
IMO, reporting it , at this stage may open up a whole big can of worms.
previous dog owner and now a cat owner here. I never let my dog poo in the street and leave it, or hang the poo bags of trees etc. Don't tar everyone with the same brush. IMO Cat poo is a damn more toxic than dog poo, especially as they bury it in the soil and you then dig it up when planting flowers. Dog poo also doesn't stink as much too ! Found that out lately ! lol0 -

That's rather unusual ... it is a cat's instinct to bury their doos.0
