exactly did you say to them, or is it just as simple as "I'm leaving" and they offer you stuff to stay with Sky - as I always hear people on the boards say that they threaten them with leaving - my only worry is that they'll be like "ok then" and cut me off
I have called them to cancel recently and they at first suggested I reduce the package, I said I would consider this and call them back. I called them back and said I just wanted to cancel and they have dropped the price for 3 months, the first month £18 and then twenty something. They really do not want to lose your custom. I just explained that we could not afford or justify the price we were paying and they offered me this. I will still be in the same position in 3 months so will attempt to cancel again, unless they keep the price lowered. Even if they did accept your cancellation you could always call them back and say you have reconsidered although I have yet to read anywhere that have done this. Good luck!
AmandaI feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day0 -

I suggest you just ignore the likes of Darktechno.
He was a bit rude to me in one of my posts -
"Stop wasting my time it aint free."
which was in response to me posting about the Tesco £40 loophole which Martin included in his newsletter.
Who cares about the forum police anyway. This site is used by 3 million people not just by one nitpicking individual.
As I posted in a separate thread, if you want to get really nitpicky, NOTHING is free. The very act of reading a 'freebie' forum costs you time, it costs you with regards to internet connection.
Please accept my thanks for posting this here. It was relevant to me and I learnt something new that is ultimately going to save me money.
Harrah to you and BOOOOO!!! to Darktechno

HI All,
New here so be nice to me.
I'm in the process of moving house and currently have sky Pick2 (£15pm)
The house we are moving to doesn't have a Sat dish and I want to go Sky+ but have been told it would cost £149 and £10 extra per month.
After seeing a few forums on this topic I have decided to hold off on that seeing that Sky will be doing Sky+ as their base line package from 1st July
Sky are aware I'm moving and I've mentioned the house we moving to doesn't have a Sat dish, luckily I haven't given them the address yet.
Sky are going to call me back today, any suggestions on what I could say?0 -

I woul cancel your account at your current address and become a 'new' customer when you move and therefore benefit from any deals. You'd need to start the new account in a different name, say your partners or vice versa.
Also, don't forget you can get about £50 cashback for signing up with sky via quidco.com!0
