Sky+ Facilities free from July 1st

Just got off the phone from Sky and was informed that as of July 1st the charge for Sky+ pause, rewind, record facilities (free on top packages) will be dropped from July 1st

This means we can finally drop our subsription rate to a more affordable offering and still keep the Sky+ pause, rewind, record facilities at last!!

I don't know if these facilities will become available for Freesat users using a Sky+ box, any info on this would be appreciated

I have had a basic £15 package with sky for about a year now and with some negociating and thgreatening to leave, they have given me a free sky+ box with free installation for only an aditional £10 a month (which my flatmate is paying!) so its all good! Just tell them you are going to Virgin and they'll do you a deal!
    Loan 7.2% APR- £3187.00
    Barclaycard 27.5% APR - £967.00
    C.card 4% APR - £2000

    VERY SCARY STUFF!

yngjackie, hope this explains it better

There is currently a £10 charge for Sky+ record pause and rewind facilties which is given free to premium channel mixes so I'd guess your subcription at £43 will stay the same as Sky+ facilities were already given free to you

But you are right in saying it counts as a reduction to anyone on a basic package so that might give some leverage in asking for a discount on your extortionate £43 charge.

I've just left Sky for that very reason and gone over to freesat, I just hope I keep the soon to be free Sky+ box record facilities, fingers crossed, guess i'll know come July 1st

thats good as I want to reduce my packages down as never watch the movies and really cannot afford to keep it at the £37 pm I already pay.

darkteckno have I done something wrong?

Your post is quite blunt and not really explanitory.

But I'm guessing you're saying my post is in the wrong place.

I have been paying sky £43 for a long time and have phoned on several occations to drop my package to a lesser cheaper one, each time I have not done so because I use the sky planner for recording the programs I watch, and by dropping to a cheaper package I encour a £10 charge, defeating the object of dropping to a cheaper package.

Therefore sky making Sky+ facilities free is in my opinion good news, it is becoming a Free Service (No Spend required) enabling people like me to make use of good facilities without the previous charge.

I posted here because I thought it was the correct place, please excuse me if it isn't and any mod may feel welcome to move it.

Having read this forum for a fair few months now I sometimes feel that some people get hung up on where things are posted, whether they have been posted before and frequently told to search the site before posting, I understand forum rules and am a member of many forums, but COME ON people, the aim of this site is money saving. Lets not all get hung upon computer etiquette.

I have intoduced a few people to this site and they wont post in case they get it wrong or look silly. I'm pretty sure thats not what this site is ment to be about
