OP , What do you mean you were picking up more than a normal trainee would pick up? How do you know how much others do or dont pick up?

My reading of the first post is that the OP was offered redundancy, or a trainee position. However, as an existing employee he was kept on the same wage, whereas a load of new trainees were taken on at the normal rate for a trainee.

    In that situation, he'd know!

    Savvy sue is correct

In an ideal world I'd speak to my manager.

In the real world. I don't think it's worth it, unfortunately.

Is there perhaps confusion over the phrase "picking up"?

I read picking up as in understanding/knowledge I.e. you were understanding whatever you're being trained in quicker than normal, then I realised you meant your wage. I've heard how much you're making, but never picking up to mean your salary. So perhaps others have been confused too!

Why is it so hard to simply say that because of TUPE you've retained your previous salary or at the opposite extreme to keep their snout out.
