Advice needed - potential bullying

I've decided to leave it for the time being. I've given it quite a bit of thought. I've noted down the details of what was said and by whom.
My reason is that if I say something to my manager now it may cause me more trouble than its worth. However, if I leave it and see how things play out, if this guy continues to shout his mouth off then I'll have more ammunition if things do get worse. This guy is a bit of a bully.
The thing I'm worried about is if other colleagues find out there may be some kind of resentment and Ill-feeling towards me. I'm not bothered what people think however I need to gain experience off these lads and if they know I'm picking up as much as them then it might not go down well.0 -

If this happens you will have your evidence to do something about it, your manager will then need to do something like having a word with those seen to be causing any discord. Keep writing it all down and repeating the process as necessary.
You're doing good for now, keep acting as normal as possible so as not to reveal yourself, and keep going.0 -
Could be a beach of the DPA?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I just wanted to update this thread.
Well, he's decided to tell all the lads I work with how much I'm paid.
On the plus side, it turns out the lads aren't that bothered.
However, I am still very angry that this guy has decided to spill the beans. He has only done it to stir things up between me and the others.
What can I do about this? Is he in breach of his contract by divulging confidential information?0 -

Nice to see someone updating a thread
Three questions:
1. Do you have any hard evidence?
2. What do you hope to achieve?
3. Ask yourself if it would really be worth it to make a fuss?0 -
Hi Teresa, thanks for responding
1. My colleagues all told me that this guy told them about how much I'm paid. It seems to be common knowledge now.
2. I want him to get sacked to be quite honest. It's not just the fact that he's done this, he's done other things to me whilst on jobs that are quite dangerous. I don't want to divulge too much on here but he has taken a personal disliking to me, and being a trainee it's difficult because you don't want to be seen as a problem.
3. I don't know. I feel as though I want to tell him face to face how much of an idiot he is. And I also feel that I should just take it all on the chin and ignore him. I've made a record of everything he's done and ill keep recording things but everyone has a limit. I feel as though one day I'll end up saying something to him.
My brother said I could put a grievance in against him. It would then be a formal complaint against him and the company would HAVE to do something about the situation.0 -
He is definitely way out of line to do this. Information like this is protected and he has no right to share it more widely.
If you want to take it further you should have a word with your manager and if necessary escalate it to your HR department. He could get formally disciplined for this so be aware it could result in him becoming even more difficult with you.Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0 -

If you want to make a complaint, take your evidence to your Manager and / or HR (there may be a company Policy or Procedure you could follow which would advise on how to do this) if people would also be willing to back up what you are saying all the better.
Yes they would have to "do something" however this may not be what you want exactly, it would be whatever is best for the company so, especially as you are a trainee, I would suggest you consider very carefully if it would be worth it in the long run for you as that is what is important.0 -
Thanks again for the advice.
I definitely need to weigh this up. I hear what you're saying. He's more of an asset to the company than I am at the moment (that doesn't mean he does a fat lot of work!!!!). My main priority is to get qualified. Once I'm there then I suppose I'll have more clout and can start giving some back.0 -
