I just emailed a seller about an item I haven't received. The screen had changed, but it's ages since I messaged anyone - probably years - and I know ebay likes changing things so didn't worry. Now I've realised I've opened a case :-(

I've just done the same, only wanted to send a polite message to confirm date of postage and opened a case against them without realising!

    See what i mean.
This is just causing problems for all concerned! :/
  • seemingly, this new system "simplifies" the caseload for ebay, as long as you just observe what screen you are on and if "where is my item?" is opted for, it is an auto case so uncheck that box unless you are actually asking for explanation and tracking for a very late item and havent had any prior comms , just select "other" topic, which should enable open communication between trading partners, without apportioning blame and/or demanding a refund, etc, if you have waited above and beyond their estimate and a reasonable passage of time has gone it isn't unreasonable to simply log in and ask if your seller can assist .
