Advice needed Capital One ppi claim rejected

I have just received a reply from C.One regarding my ppi claim who say the policy was sold appropriately. The ppi was purchased when the card was activated over the telephone, I naively took out the ppi as i thought it compulsory. The ppi was cancelled 3 years later when I had to seek finanicial help and was advised by a family member that I could in fact cancel the policy. I wonder if anyone else has been in this position as I want to send a reply to C.One as I am not happy with the outcome. i would be grateful if anyone could advise. The credit card account is closed and I have no outstanding debt with C.One.

There's no point in complaining again about the same thing to capital one. The next step is to send your coplaint to the ombudsman, who will probably tell you the same thing as capital one but take about 18 months to do it, unless you can prove you didn't need it or could cover your payments with another income

Thanks for the advice Taff.... I have just been told the same as Sunnydaysahead in that I didn't opt for PPI on my application but purchased it via the telephone call to activate my card...... I'm on the FOS trail too... so good luck :-)

Good luck with the FOS. However, dont expect success. The FOS only overturned 22% of Cap One complaints in the last reported 6 month period and 11% in the 6 months prior to that.

Typically, with Cap One, you need to strong complaint reason. If its an unprovable verbal allegation then you would expect to lose.
