Halifax Savings Retention Specialist?

I was moving funds away from Halifax due to an expired bonus period and got the following:

I went ahead with the payment anyway as I wanted to use the funds for my 2013/14 ISA, but has anyone else got this message? Did you ring the number?
I wonder if they would actually do anything but advertise whats available on there web site.. I got similar from First Direct when moving funds out, but all they could offer me was 2% for being a loyal customer (same as stated on their website).

"Savings Retention Specialist" - haha, I've heard some euphemisms for "salesman" in my time but this is up there with the best of them.
I very much doubt the sales team on the end of that phone number have any discretion to beat the deals published on the website; this is just some guff to con people into thinking loyalty is actually rewarded.0 -

It's easy to use big words to make someones position within a company sound more important. I learned that quite a few years back during my time working as a Fuel Injection Engineer (some liked to call us petrol pump attendants). 0
