Hello Chopper, found a way back in already, try behaving yourself this time and contribute something useful.
Just incase you aren't Chopper Read with a new hat on I'll explain to you as I've left the other thread behind, but as this is mine it seems fair.
I won't "take a hit" for something that I still feel is both safe, and the best way to tackle the problem that was in that picture.
Keystone made a fair point which I didn't reply too, he suggested there may be another pipe hidden in the wall behind. Yes there may be, but the tap was too tight to the wall to get a pipe cutter in, I suggested a slash with the angle grinder. OK it was simplification, but the pipe ityself was not actually buried in the wall.
I didn't suggest cutting into the the wall, I would have cut the pipe with a fine blade in an angle grinder, I could then have got in with the handheld metal detector that would not have been possible with all the metal in the way.
Lump hammer and chisel to create a bit of knuckle room and new bits fitted.
If I was doing the job myself tomorrow I do it that way.
The word "slash"?, I must have had you and your posts on my mind, what with, your name Chopper, and your frequent calling me a bel* End, Kn*b and the rest of it, "slash" may have been a Freudian slip.
Sorry to the serious guys, but that way works for me.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
