I have faith in it.
I actually have permanent residency there, for life, regardless ;-)0 -
I don't know if it would be easy but I would try and get the 12k THEN start whatever against him to get the rest.
If he is offering you 12k without signing anything or actally agreeing *if* you can I would get that first then worry about the 3k.
In England your assets and bills if living together for 5yrs+ means you would have to pay 50/50 of his bills.
But obvouisly without knowing the laws of this country we can't really help.
Good luck anywayPeople don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
You seem to be missing the point that if you want to stop him doing this you will have to employ a lawyer, that will cost you probably more than the £3k he's 'deducting', not to mention the travel costs back and forth to the other country if it goes to court. He will no doubt retaliate by employing his own lawyer to enforce payment of the mortgage from the time you left until your name was removed. You could end up walking away with alot less than £12k.
No, it's not fair, but sometimes in life it's better to take the hit and walk away.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
So get back there and enforce what you agreed with him. There's nothing whatsoever you can from here.
We can discuss this on here till the cows come home but nothing short of going legal back there will stop him making what deductions he thinks is fair. I'm sort-of on his side about the mortgage-payments you didn't make until the transfer went through.0 -
Thanks - that's actually what I thought of doing, just waiting to see what he does transfer, then consult a lawyer about any deductions he decides to make & fight for that. I can't afford one right now though :-/
He knows what plans I have for the monies and I want to use some of it to fulfill a dream, ofcourse, since that would give me happiness, he wants to ensure that doesn't happen *sigh*0 -
Then don't give him the satisfaction of taking that dream away from you by getting involved in his tit for tat games.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Oh and if he says anymore about you owing him half the mortage payment say thats fine but I want you to pay me half the rent as your living thier
Proceed to make a higher figure....actally that will probally only !!!! him off but that wouldn't stand in court esp if ur name isnt on the mortage anymore. People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
I've not missed the point at all, I'm aware that I will inevitably need a lawyer, I just wanted to know in advance if he would actually be allowed to do this to me.
I won't have travel expenses because if I start a lawsuit, it will be in this country, so if he wants to defend himself, he'll need to come here.
Thanks anyway everyone, I think I shall consult a lawyer on Monday and see what happens :-)0 -

I wouldn't consider £3,000 tit for tat!!!0 -
Going legal is likely to cost you more than three grand.0
