Cheque with different address

If after cashing in a savings account from a previous address the cheque is sent to that address. Can the cheque be paid into my account or do I have to have another cheque sent with my current address on it. Thanks

As long as it has the same name as the account that you are paying it into the address it was sent to has no relevance at all.0

Cheques do not normally have the payee's address on them (with the exception of HMRC cheques).
Even if it does have the address, it's unlikely to matter.0 -
I was surprised that the address was on the cheque. Perhaps it was due to it being a decent amount that they take extra precautions when sending them through the post.
The BS were not prepared to make a CHAPS payment and would only sent it through the post. Hopefully as you guys suggest the bank only need to recognise the correct name to process it.

All HMRC cheques have payees name on them or they would be useless as nobody could bank them.0
