Double Glazing

We are in the process of getting Double Glazing done to our house and ideally want Oak coloured UPVC windows to bring a bit of character to the building

Now the Dilemma is whether we get Oak coloured on the inside or whether we do white on the inside.

We are leaning towards Oak coloured as we like it but from speaking to people they are telling us whit keeps the heat in better??? White also makes the room brighter as oak would make the room darker.

We are not sure so was wondering what everyones opinion would be

When we had our windows and composite door installed from https://www.mpnwindows.com we were told that white internally would look better and I am glad we took their advice. Our front composite door is black on the outside and white on the inside which is much brighter and also doesn't look too overpowering.

With regard to heat it shouldn't make any difference what colour the internal finish is, look for a quality glass such as planitherm and also more importantly make sure they measure and install properly which is why we went with MPN. Ask friends / work colleagues for recommendations on local firms.

What is the colour of the rest of the wood in your house, ie; have you white glossed all window sills, doors and skirting boards? If they're white then probably best to stick with white inside, if they're stained though then I personally would want the oak on the inside too. As for the heat loss, can't see why that would make any difference whatsoever, seems a daft thing to say.

The Window sills, skirting boards and doors are all painted white but they have been painted and over painted so many times now that we are going to remove all paint from them and then maybe varnish them or something

No doubt they'll be soft wood so why not replace with oak. Weight up the cost verses time.
