The English Channel once lapped at the very toes of Rye, an ancient hilltop town and Cinque Port that now lies on the sheltered Rother Estuary surrounded by the wetlands of Romney Marsh. Before the sea receded, the only access to the citadel was through the medieval Landgate, which still stands not a stone's throw from Rye Lodge. The hotel occupies a wonderful position on East Cliff, with great panoramic views down to the harbour, where the Rye fishing fleet gathers.

1. The free night must be taken within 12 months, subject to availability. Excludes bank holidays and school holidays.

3. The room is for double occupancy, complimentary upgrade, subject to availability
4. The closing date for entries will be noon on 14th April 2013. The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other special breaks or promotions such as Christmas, Gourmet Weekends etc.
5. One prize winner will be selected and will receive a 2 Free Nights for 2 + Dinner on 1 Night for them and a guest.
6. The stay is open to a maximum of two adults sharing a double room.
7. The winner is responsible for their travelling costs to and from the hotel.
