Hi guys  thanks for starting us off katy, good luck with the ot!
Happy birthday La E :bdaycake: sounds like you've got a lovely day planned & that things are going well for you - hurrah!
Ziggy there is always a lot of competition with other but in the end the race is with ourselves and its the journey that is important. That your lo know you love him is enough and anyone else's opinion doesn't matter. I have this little motivational poster on my notice board at work that says something like "the happier you are with your own decisions the less you need other people to agree" x
My plans for the day - (largely fun/non chore/dfw-ish but...)
* all meals from stores
* going for a country walk. Will take a picnic so not tempted to have lunch in a country pub!
* plant some seeds
* a load of washing & hang up
* going for a drink & to watch a film with oh tonight - going to local uni cinema so not as expensive as mainstream
* might do some sewing if I have time
that's it! xDF as at 30/12/16

Happy Birthday La E x
Well, as last year, i'm steering clear of putting a bet on the National, I found I can enjoy it just as much without putting money on it.
Also going shopping in a bit just for a few things to tide me over the weekend, i'll be going to Cooltrader as I find I can get 'treat's in there that usually I wouldn't buy ie i'd never spend £1.79 for 5 Galaxy's but for £1 which is what they are in Cooltrader then I would.
DD2s birthday on Monday so i'm getting her a card and a balloon. I have decided to give her money and £50 is all I can spare - tbh I cant really but I've juggled the finances so it's achievable.
Have a lovely weekend everyone:T0 -

Happy birthday La E! You're having a stonking day so far - hope it continues for you.
Been a busy bee this morning and have almost finished the mega spring clean now - every room has been scrubbed, polished, washed, bleached and sorted:j
Just my wardrobe to go but that can wait for another day.
So today so far I have...- Cleaned the conservatory - all windows, scrubbed frames, decobwebbed the ceiling, cleaned all furniture, hoovered and sorted - very hard work but sparkling now:)
- Taken the dog to the park for a good run with his little canine pals
- Phoned the carpet shop to get it laid on Thursday
- Confirmed the furniture delivery for Saturday (spare room makeover)
- Got £50 from the house clearance man for the existing bedroom furniture
- Man calling back with mate to pick up bed later
- Do a little food shop
- Hoover and dust downstairs
- Hoover out spare room once cleared
- Take dog for a long walk this afternoon in the sunshine
- Phone mum on free landline
- All food from stores
- Have a look for new spare bedroom accessories
- Write a mealplan for the week
- Stay in tonight and finally have a sit down and watch a movie recorded last night on the Sky box I fixed myself:D
- Do a bit of a makeover on myself, all this cleaning has left me with yukky nails and could do with a bit of "me time"

Hi Penny-savers,
Following the lergy, still not feeling like a night out tonight so although that's ticket money wasted, we won't be buying a meal out, paying parking or any of the other stuff.
*Just about stuck to grocery budget this week. Some tweaking to do.
*Got fruit & veg from Aldi & local market. Several items we needed were on offer in Aldi. Luckily noticed the cucumber I'd picked was a minger before I left the shop so changed it!
*Ladies' essential monthly items bought from Aldi. Much cheaper than branded & perfectly ok.
*Very cold out, but sun streaming though lounge window means no heating on downstairs all day.
*Filled coffee loyalty card in local independent coffee shop so that's a nice free one next time :-) Did not have a cake.....tummy still not 100% so a couple of quid saved there.
*Didn't buy a magazine or get tempted by anything else whatsoever......am so angelic these days, would I even recognise my old self if I were able to meet her on a shopping trip? I doubt it!
*10% off all frozen food (inc branded) for 'My Waitrose' card holders.
*Popped down the greenhouse to water all my seedlings.....growing food from free seeds feels very money-saving & I want to put the effort in. Watered the Autumn-sown shallots & garlic.
*Did a survey
Think that's it....we hadn't expected to be stopping in tonight, but will cook something nice & maybe watch a film. Have a good weekend, everyone.

Morning all!
Today is the start of the great paintathon in the spare room.
I'm not a fan and just want to get it over with. It will keep me out of the shops though.:)
So today's teeny little list...- Walk the dog in the park twice for free exercise and fresh air
- Get the spare room painted (first coat), will probably take all day
- All food from stores
- Man coming to give me a quote for deep cleaning the conservatory roof
- Staying in tonight, probably collapsed on the sofa after the painting trauma:p
- Try to have a NSD
