Is there a time limit?

I changed supplier for gas and electric in December 2012. I received a final bill for the electric from previous supplier in January 2013. Still no sign of the final bill for the gas. After a couple of phone calls I know they have received the final reading from the current supplier. I was informed that they will bill me by the end of March 2013. I am still waiting! Is there a time limit they have to issue a final bill or is it a waiting game?. I don't see why I should waste my time and expense chasing money that is theirs?:(

Chase it, you don't want to risk letters going astray and debt collectors on your back. They can bill you for up to six years. Just send e-mails so you have a record of contact and don't have to hang on hold, might be wise to confirm your forwarding address in case there has been a typo.

Thanks I will. One reason I left previous supplier is they are totally useless, It took me just under a year and I was just moving out again before they sorted my last property bills out.
