I strongly agree with others on here - the O/P should be looking in the first instance at supporting another charity that does similar work, either by volunteering or helping to fundraise.

There are more than 180,000 registered charities in England and Wales alone. I would have thought it very unlikely that one of them isnt doing similar work. The other question is - if they're not, then why not? If its not a viable workable idea in the first place, then forming a charity to throw money at something thats either not needed or not workable is not a good idea.

Also as someone else said, as there are already 180,000+ charities in England and Wales AND there is a limited amount of money that people give to charities, then if you start yet another one you're most likely going to get funds by depriving another charity of funding to do so?

The actual work is one aspect, administration is another, fundraising is yet another side to it. People who are good at one are not necessarily suitable for another.

    +1

Often charities are formed by a group of people who want to help a particular group in society, and all bring various skills to the organisation.
