I seem to have done nothing of late, but to ask questions. When typing, I have something on my laptop, that highlights spelling errors with a red wiggly line under the mis-spelt word. But, it is correcting English words and trying to make me spell them American ie favour is said to be wrong, and favor right.

Is this in your web browser or something like office?
Either way what you need to do is to tell it to use the British English dictionary rather than the wrong (well, American) English dictionary.
With Firefox you need to make sure you've got the British Dictionary add-on installed, then can simply right click in something like the rep[ly box here, and under languages select English (UK).
With IE I think it's similar (make sure you have the UK dictionary installed), and probably have to change it in the tools menu or something.
I'm not sure how you do it with Office, but suspect it's similar again.0 -
It could be that you need to re-set your language options in your puter's control panel.0
-
For Office open Word then select tools>language>set language then select English (UK) this will set it for the other office programs.
Instructions for Office 2003 - newer versions will probably vary as Microsoft change things like this for no apparent reason.

In IE, via tools>internet options >languages, it is English UK
I have unticked "enable spell checking" and it's ok now, see colour colour colour ! in chrome.
View in this in IE, all the colours are underlined, so must suss that out now. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
