Wireless Network Problem

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I have two computers and I am using wireless broadband (sky). Everything has been working perfectly ok, I have had it working for about six months. Yesterday the broadband on the upstairs computer went off. When you click on the little computer network icon at the bottom it says connected and strength excellent. When I try to refresh the connection I get the message windows could not finsih repairing the problem because the folllowing action cannot be completed, registering with DNS. When I look at the network connections box it says windows can not configure this wireless connection. Everything is running as usual on the downstairs computer. Any help Please.

Since everything was working before, I would try shutting down all the equipment including the router, then restart after about 5mins.

If the above fails you may need to re-enter your encryption key into the non-connected computer.

Hi, thanks I have tried shutting down, this makes no difference. I can not get to the screen to enter the encryption key again, because it will not let me access it.

Try the following before embarking on anything more Elaborate.

Position mouse pointer over the connection icon on the btm of the screen select right mouse button and from the menu select repair.

    Start - Run - CMD
then, in the small screen, enter: ipconfig /all

post here by highlighting the resultant text then Ctrl C to copy and Ctrl V to paste

Without knowing what may have happened nor the ability to look at the computer diagnosis is hard to make.

Try the following but make a restore point before carrying this procedure out.
Take the computer back to a date when you know the system was working OK using the System Restore function (i assume your using windows) remember you may loose anything that was put onto the computer after this point hence my remark above to make a current restore point then you can go back to as is if this doesnt work.
