Excel File Location

Is it possible to set the Autorecover file location separately for each file? As far as I can see, if I change the location it applies to all Excel files until I change it back again.
I'd like to start keeping my accounts on Excel, but I don't want the Autorecover saving data on the HDD rather than on the USB stick where the main file will be.
It's far too much aggro to remember to change the location every time I open and close my accounts file, but I don't want data left on the HDD either, in case the computer has to go for repair.

A hard drive is much, much more reliable than a USB stick. Operating from just a USB drive is a BAD idea and you will lose your files.
Also which is more likely to go missing, a USB stick or a laptop?

USB memory is not a reliable form of long-term data storage. Also, when (not if, when) you delete files by accident, they don't go to the Recycle Bin and are irrecoverable.
For transporting copies of files, USB sticks are fine.
For long-term portable and external data storage, I use an old 2.5" laptop hard disc in an external USB enclosure. These work just like any other hard drive, are relatively compact and powered through the USB interface. Just don't drop it, though. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

The autorecover location is set for all files - change it for one, you change it for all.How do I add a signature?0 -
Either use a macro within each Excel sheet to change the autorecover value or Google for a sript to do it.0
