Rein/harnesses for children

My heart's in my mouth sometimes when I watch little kids running along by the side of the road and their parents either miles behind or infront paying no attention!
Mine all had the torso reins, I never heard any comments about them being cruel. We did try a wrist one with the youngest but he could get out of it too easily.
DS1 wasn't so bad but the younger 2 were apt to 'bolt' without warning, also when you're trying to get a baby out a buggy to fold it up to get on the bus and hang on to a restless toddler and shopping, it's a good sight easier if they're wearing reins!Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

My son has a small teddy like backpack with the rein attached which he calls the Tail and happily hands to me. When he was smaller I liked I was able to save him from trips & falls and now I have a small on in a push chair it's great as he can't run off. Not so easy to run after them when you can't just leave the pushchair!
On a whole I think they have helped him learn to stay close. He likes to put the hook over the pushchair handle and walk beside us.
I've never had any bad remarks if anything people have commented at how great they are or asked where they can get them0
