It looks like I'm one of very few people to prefer curtains to be closed! I can't relax with them open. My house is my private space and I don't like the idea of other people being able to see in. Our lounge curtains and bedroom curtains are closed constantly, though I do have the curtains open in the office because that's not a space I'm relaxing in anyway, and the sunlight is preferable to artificial lights and glowing PC screens.

I have thought about it a few times, actually. I do wonder how it looks to neighbours when we have our curtains constantly closed, but I know that on the occasion I do go to stand at the window just to enjoy the view, my eyes do end up drawn to windows and I don't like the idea that others are looking in even if they're not deliberately doing so!

Do you not have net curtains? I don't particularly like them but I don't want people to see in. You can't see much through nets unless you have a light on.

My neighbour closes all her curtains downstairs when she goes out. I don't know why and to me she is advertising the fact that she is out

I detest net curtains - unless you live with your window right next to the pavement I see no need for them.

Wow, imagine the awesome halloween parties you could create using that lot.

    That's a very good point.

In fact, I think at the next management meeting I might suggest we do a sideline in making a "Most Haunted" style TV series. Bet we could out-ghost those folk with ease!

I'm sure Sky will pick it up, and if not, ITV2 will show any old crap. We'll be quids in!

My idea first. I want a 80/20 split in the profits in my favour dude.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

We don't have any curtains or blinds downstairs at all.

Upstairs the bathroom blinds tend to be down most of the time (they're on the front of the house), and bedroom blinds and curtains are closed most of the time (blackout). In the spare rooms curtains are open unless someone is staying with us.

Your idea was Halloween parties, mine was taking this show to TV!

But I'm a fair person, so how about a job as the person who makes up all the nonsense that Derek Acorah and co usually spout? It'll give you a chance to exercise your creative side!

    Marvellous!

I'll arrange to commandeer the security equipment we'll be needing.
