Looking for a good free AMEX? Or cashback...?

I'm looking for an AMEX to take advantage of the Foursquare offers, and I've been meaning to try the card out itself (see how it's accepted, etc.)
I've checked their site, but are there any other branded AMEX cards to look into?
Are there any cashback AMEX's that don't have a yearly charge?

Not exactly cashback but they are rewards cards without an annual fee:
BA Amex:

Virgin white:

MBNA More Rewards:

Lloyds TSB Duo Avios

The fee paying versions offer a higher rate of rewards (double in most cases)0 -
Ah, thanks!
Seems a lot are Avios deals. May take whatever I can get. Or just go with a cashback Aqua and get a regular AMEX (free) on the side.0 -
Unless you have the Aqua 3% card already, it's not available any more for new customers.
Either way it'll cover your first £3333.34 of annual spend to get the £100 max cashback.
The Platinum Cashback with £25 annual fee is a great card. 5% cashback in the first 3 months and 1.25% after that. That should cover the annual fee and you'll get some Foursquare offers.
£15 cashback for £50 spent at Shell at the moment, so there's £15 cashback straight away on a full tank of petrol.0 -
I use the Nectar Amex card which is fee free.
They give away 1 point per £1 spent and double (I think) at Sainsburys (in addition to points earned using your nectar card there). They give 500 extra points for each £500 you spend in a month (e.g. get 1000 points if you spend £500 in a month).
Additional card holders are also eligible for the foursqaure stuff

If you must have an Amex for the FourSquare deals then you have once choice for a cashback card and that's the Platinum Cashback with the £25 fee. It's £25. You'll easily cover that during the bonus 5% period or failing that the first time some new FourSquare deals come up.
As for rewards cards, unless you're going to use the rewards, what's the point? If you're unlikely to use Avios or Nectar then I would't bother. I use a lot of Avios so for me the annual fees that go with the cards are justifiable. Not had any experience with nectar but from my limited knowledge it seems a waste of time.0 -

Ah thanks, interesting.
Good poiint, good point.
I doubt I'd cover it during the 5% period, not that big of a spender to be honest...
I buy stuff that lasts + groceries0
