Outlook Express won't open

I have used OE for years and yesterday it wouldn't open so I switched off computer etc and everything was find. Today, same problem but rebooting is not working.
When I click on the OE icon I get a message: Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. It then asks if I want to send an error report which I have done.
I looked at the data in the error report but it didn't make any sense. As there are 6 emails addresses coming through OE it is very tedious going into them individually. We have not changed the security on the computer or done anything else. It is OE6
Help, please

You didn't tell us what flavour Windows you are running.
Go to Start - Run - type in WUPDMGR and click on OK
Download everything0 -

True, but there are other fixes & links on that page which don't need OE to be open, not tried any myself but worth having a go.
Otherwise one of these may have an answer http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&q=repair+outlook+express0
