Hi
My 2 DDs are Tesco bank and my broadband. Been set up since January.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
So will I get £5 at the start of May because I paid in £1000 in April and the changes don't take effect until May?
If not I might as well close the account now.0 -

I have just phoned halifax and asked if I can swap 2 of my direct debits from one reward account to the other and they have said they cant do it, they said I have to contact the companies directly to swap them. I was under the impression that it could be done by Halifax but contacting the companies is going to take a while anyway. Is the man at halifax right? he also confirmed its the 14thThanx

Why not share your Reward? If you have any charities that you normally donate to, you could set up DDs instead.
Many charities will accept smallish monthly amounts such as £2 or £3. Some have a minimum even less than that.
My OH opened a Tesco saver on-line, it was done more or less instantly, and the DDs were set up within hours.
We are using Tesco savers , £2 per month each x 5 , and donating £3 per month x 5 to Macmillan and RNLI. All the DDs were set up easily on-line.0 -

Yes, you need to contact the companies as they set up the DDs.0 -
is there anything else similar to tesco bank, that does multiple direct debits and online. Santander seem a pain to post something. I think paypal works for multiple, but you would need to do push the transfer each month, which is a small pain.
As for timings, you should be ok. I just opened a joint account, and they gave me the 1K, no deposit paperwork, but with the upcoming changes, so they know it would take a few weeks to sort it all out from now. 14th April to 1st May I imagine will be a bit of a grace period, as it's a big change for them, and their IT systems need to update to cope with the changes. As long as the DD goes out in May, I would speculate it should be ok.0 -
I have banked with Halifax for a number of years and set up the Reward Account as another account and set up DD to put in the £1,000 per month and out again into Main Current Account.
Approach I am trying is to downgrade Reward Account and within 24-48 hours can upgrade my main Current Account to Reward Account. They think I may have to call - I am hoping you can do it online! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
