Woolwich have really good rates at the minute, so theyre pretty busy.
I was told last week they had a 2 week turn around time. So 10 days is an improvement. Try ringing their broker helpline, 20 minutes later i gave up this afternoon!
Their rates are good so the demand is high.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I've gone through Woolwich for my mortgage. I went through the application on the phone on the 6th March, received the paperwork on the 8th. Sent the paperwork back on the 11th. Survey was done on the 20th and offer was issued on the 26th March.
I've found the service really good, I had phone calls twice just to let me know where the application was in the process and if I had a query I had a named individual and his email address so I could email him and always had an email answering my query within 1/2 and hour.
Very impressed with the service, although I think they are very busy.House Buying Tracker:

Ive not been impressed. Signed up for text and email alerts had nothing. Sent several emails to my specialist, no reply. Had to wait an eternity when ringing .0

I have to say, when I put a sourcing report in front of a potential client, we will tell them of the service issues with the likes of Barclays and Accord.
The best rate is all very well, but if 0.2% means a six week wait for an offer and all the frustration that entails, we'd rather stick with the predictable. We're doing loads with Nationwide at the moment, as we know what to expect and their NFI online system is pretty decent.I am a mortgage broker. I got an offer directly through the Woolwich before Christmas. The application and sending all the documents off and valuation were all done within days. Then the underwriters took ages. then they said it was approved and sent out, but neither me nor solicitor received it. 3 weeks of chasing we eventually got our copies. in total 6 weeks it took. No texts received even though they kept saying we would be kept up to date via texts. Good luck!0

Another (nervous!) Woolwich applicant here!
My broker filed the application yesterday evening (I had been in and submitted all my payslips, P60s, etc) and said he hoped to hear back on a DIP today.
I saw first this morning that they had run a check on my credit file but I've heard nothing back. Do you think this a bad sign (they have referred it)? I know some lenders do a DIP pretty much instantly, but Woolwich can generally be slow, so not sure what to think.
Now I have to spend all weekend fretting - I'll be a nervous wreck by the time this is done :-)0 -
Hmm well got my p60 back today, the Letter with it had a mortgage account number on, is that a good sign ?0

We are using woolwich as we have a lifetime tracker to port - the process was pretty straight forward....then.....I received my mortgage offer via woolwich about...oooh 6/7 weeks ago....going through the process of the searches on the property and received a letter in the post from woolwich to say sorry I decided to cancel the mortgage and charged me £150 for the privillege! I nearly DIED! on the spot!
whilst having palpitations I called the mortgage helpline - to be told its an IT issue they are aware of.
However, they've had to re-key in all our details again, we've had to re-submit all the paperwork again and its still going through. PLUS....the !!!!!!s charged me £150 cancellation fee (even though they know it to be an IT issue) AND another survey fee of £355!
Gobsmacked....I am!
Anyway, our mortgage adviser is currently escalating the issue as we are days away from signing contracts and the mortgage offer in my hands and in my hands of the solicitor is no longer valid! He told me there is no problem with our application - they havent withdrawn anything so Im not to worry but jhezzzz - its hard not to.
Up until that cancellation letter - all was hunky dory!0
