Enabling SPDY on Nexus 7

I've found that browsing on my Nexus 7 (Chrome and Firefox) can be a little slow at times, particularly on 3G and I've heard that some people enable SPDY in order to speed it up.
Just wondered if anyone here had enabled SPDY and if they'd had any problems afterwards, as there's a disclaimer at the top of the page saying "this may affect your device blah blah". It's making me think twice.

What's SPDY?
Top of what page?0 -
You seem to have misunderstood the forum.
The way it works is the first poster asks a question and following posters answer the question if they can. If you haven't a clue what he's talking about and are interested then google is your friend....

I've enabled it. Can't comment on speed as mine's on home WiFi now which is always pretty fast anyway. It hasn't crashed, I haven't noticed any problems in the short time it's been active. If it does play up it's easy enough to turn off again. It will maybe help when I use this tablet on my 3G mifi next time.0

kwikbreaks - thanks but I was hoping that the OP could have provided an explanation of what it is since they're using it and it's not that well known. I read your link and know what you're talking about now, but I still don't know what SPDY stands for. Might give it a go for patchy mobile reception.
Sounds like it might be useful, and Opera has been doing this for years has it not?0 -
