Tesco CC / Clubcard - Points Question

in Credit cards
Hello all,
Pretty sure this has been covered before but I want to clarify the situation. Today I applied for and was accepted for a Tesco CC, during the application process I chose not to enter my clubcard number when it was requested.
Did there used to be, or is there some way of getting points on both the CC and the clubcard when shopping at Tesco/Tesco fuel stations ?
I initially applied for the card for my wife and I to put the food/petrol on it each month, it would then be paid off. (Although I am now thinking of paying just over the minimum and saving the rest as it's 0% on purchases for 16 months.)
Thanks

I think it's best to link a Clubcard to the Tesco credit card. In that way you get more points for Tesco petrol and you also get some clubcard points for all your purchases outside of Tesco too.
I'm not sure why you would choose not to link your Clubcard to the Credit Card?0 -

Just what I was thinking.0 -
Thanks for the quick replies - I didn't know if there was some way to get more points if I didn't link it. When I get the card through I will link it to my clubcard.0

I thought they only did a credit/clubcard combined so would the credit card not have a new clubcard number anyway?0

Yeah, all credit cards get a new clubcard number anyway, which is 16 digits long. If you get a normal clubcard from Tesco it's 18 digits. When they're linked the points go into the same account, not sure what happens if they are not linked and you try to use both in one Tesco transaction.0

When I used my Tesco CC in Tesco, when the card was inserted into the Chip and Pin reader first it uses the details to get the Clubcard points, then the cashier asks if I'd like to pay on the card too, so it essentially doubles up as a clubcard, the same when I did self service at the Tesco Petrol Station.
Now that I have the Santander 123 Credit Card the 3% cashback on fuel beats the Tesco CC and the 1% cashback on groceries beats the extra clubcard points for using the Tesco CC in store (or matches them if I multiply the points x4 when exchanging them for vouchers) for the pedantic ones among you!)0
