Slate tile fell off disused building nearly injuring me

This afternoon it was very windy and walked past a disused small factory which closed about 20+ years ago.
The wind blew off one of the slate tiles and landed yards from me.
If I was 5-6 yards ahead, it would be a very different story as I could have suffered injuries.
Who do I report this to as the next time its windy, it could be a different story.

You're not the only one!
Kudos to the OP for doing something about a problem - very community-minded - once one slate goes the wind gets in...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I think that people who hang around here in case there is any compo going are mainly looking for entertainment....I smell a legal tout. Oh dear are you that desperate for work? You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
Call your council and speak to someone on the highways team (if you live somewhere with a district/borough council and a county council then it will be the county council you need to call) - seems an odd thing given that the problem is a building in disrepair, but as the disrepair is a danger to people using the highway the highway authority have a duty to make sure it is sorted and the danger removed. They can trace the owners of the building and serve a notice for them to repair it or the council can do the repairs and bill them.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0
