Who is Cheapest for share sales
erb
I've got 6 different share holdings ranging from £300 to £7000 in paper certificates and I am looking for the cheapest place to sell them. I do not intend to buy anymore shares. Would consider execution only service by post if this is cheapest.
Any suggestions anybody.

If you just want to sell your shares and don't plan to buy any more, then you could consider TD Waterhouse. They currently have an offer of free online dealing for the first 2 months, so you could sell all of your shares at no charge!
However, they have an inactivity charge of £10 per quarter if you don't use the account and hold less than £5000 of stock, so you would need to close your account after making the sales to avoid this charge applying in the future.0 -

See Comdirect offer here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=235A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
Erb, please bear in mind that for both MSJW and plumb1 suggestions that you might incur a charge for closing the online dealing accounts. Have to admint that I haven't actually checked the T's & C's for TD and Comdirect but its worth finding out should you choose to go down this route.

Yes good point. I will check on any account closure fees. However, with the cashback from comdirect I think I will take plumb 1 up on his offer then sell and close. Looks like the cheapest way to sell overall.Regards
