Advice on bath shower mixer taps please

We are having a new bathroom fitted and are struugling to get the correct advice on some taps for it.

The taps we want are mixer taps with the shower (wand) attachment. we would only be using the shower/wand attachment to rinse the kids hair not as a poper stand up shower attachment.

Our cold water to the house is straight from the mains but our hot water is gravity fed.

I have been told to get the correct BAR is to measure from the bottom of the cold water tank in the loft down to where they bath taps would be, is this correct ? if it is the measurment is 2.4 mtrs so in my calculations I have .2 bar pressure. ?

In tracing the pipes the cold water tank fills the hot water tank that is in a cupboard on the same floor as the new bathroom.

The mixer taps we have seen say 1bar minimum pressure so does this rule them out.

A friend mentioned getting a hot water pump but does he mean just for the baths hot water of for the whole house ?

I would appreciate any advice on the above.

Many thanks in advance

    Good advice here.
  • Your best bet is to get a new supply Cold from the roof tank to the cold tap on the bath - you might need a larger ( 50 gallon ) tank , because it might be a 25gallon one feeding just the hot water @ present - but you`ll have balanced pressure to the bath ( low but balanced)
