New E-bayer - quick questions!!!!

Hi all - just looking for some quick advice - i've been scanning through posts and know there is much discussion about what time to end auctions etc... I was wondering what is the best length of auction?
I have just listed on e-bay for the first time - I'm getting very few people looking at my goods and no bids on anything what-so-ever! I have also read it's a bad time for e-bayers in general but does anyone have any tips??
Also how do you add borders etc.. to your listings to make them look like you've put some effort in? (If you know what I mean?)

I really do not believe that there is such a thing as a good time or a bad time for ebayers, most of it is just down to luck. Amongst several items that I have listed, I have 2 items that are on thier 3rd relist and the prices have gone astronomical, why didn't anyone want them a week or two ago & now several people are fighting over the two items, well I don't mind.
Most buyers are getting pretty savvy and will watch until the very last minute to see if anyone else is bidding so they can steal at a low price.
With regards to borders and making stuff look pretty, when you are going through the sell format, I think its just before the price or time, there is a little box that you can choose borders from.... :cool:0 -
I would say alot of buyers including myself would use a sniper to get items at the lowest possible price.Debt Free Wannabee - Updated 13/08/2007

Do you have any watchers on any of your items. Many people (myself included) don't bid until near the end of the auction. Also if people use sniping software you could see a flurry of activity in the last 30 seconds or so.
Personally I normally use 5 day auctions, no real reason, it just seems 'right' to me.
Not sure but doesn't it cost extra for borders etc. ? I normally do basic auctions but change the fonts and colours of the text to jazz it up a bit. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
