Probably the only difference is the £50 price tag unless some microscopic examination of the specs shows something else.

If you are looking for a price match or refund from PC World then I suspect you'll be out of luck because of the mismatch in product numbers. Possibly a lot of Currys/PC World stuff has product numbers unique to them for exactly that reason but I'm sure that couldn't be so.

BTW Asus Zenbook UX32A (no sub code) seems to cover both i5 and i7 processors.

Well 1 of the links says Intel Core i7 2.90 GHz yet further down the list it says its 1.9 GHz.

Cant see anything different than that. Some retailers will give items a slightly different model # so I wonder if thats the case here.

Only thing I can see is the PC World one has a 24GB SSD alongside the 500GB HDD.

Hard drive - 500 GB and 24 GB SSD
- SATA III
- 5400 rpm

So does the other one ...
The Asus UX32A-R3021H has a 500 GB hard drive and 24 GB SSD for superb storage performance. Store all your apps without the worry of taking up space and enjoy up to a whopping 125,000 songs or 160,000 photos.

It just isn't mentioned in the brief specs.
• Looks as though the solid state drive is the only difference, other than the obvious typo of 1.9GHz and 2.9GHz, my best guess on that is that it will usually turbo to 2.9GHz when running intensive things.

Solid state drive is fairly small though with the install being 10.6GB, you won't have much room to install things on there but your OS will have impressive performance. I have a rig with an SSD for boot speeds and granted its more powerful than your laptop but it will boot in 10 seconds to desktop fully loaded. And the games I install on there (albeit temporarily) have impressive performance compared to my conventional HD

It will be a caching SSD so it will appear as a normal 500GB hard drive and the system will automatically cache the most used data to the SSD.

One lists the webcam as 1.3MP, the other as 720p HD (with face recognition log-on). Might be the same camera, might not.

Well spotted - more patience than me :)

1.3Mp not going to be 720p and may well be the difference. That makes the cheaper one look even better value.
