well, the landlord got in touch last week, he had been to his old address and new occupier told him we had been round. He immediately sent someone round to look at it and he said the boiler had had it, not worth repairing. The landlord obviously didnt like this so sent a friend round to check to get a second opinion, he also said we need a new boiler. This was almost a week ago, and we just keep getting fobbed off. They have provided us with calor gas heaters etc. They kept saying they are trying to get quotes but nobody is getting back to them, in particular they said they are waiting for the first workman who came to give them a quote, however he has rang us asking if we have heard from the landlord becasue he was left lots of messages for them and they dont get back to him.

Since yesterday we have had no contact from landlord, they dont answer the phone or reply to our messages. My husband has been put on nebuliser at doctors today because his asthma and chest infection has worsened so much they will probably be admitting him to hospital tomorrow. I dont want to, but know i will have to ring the council if this isnt sorted soon, but how long do I wait?

You've waited long enough. Get on the phones.

hmmm, this is probably not going to wash with the council.

The landlord has provided an alternative means of space heating, his legal requirement, central heating isn’t mandatory.

The lack of a hot water supply, (do you have an electric shower?) is the only legal problem now, but the council wont do anything about this unless its being going on for months and months (Currently 6 days).

I'm sorry but possible solutions has already been given on this thread.

Id advise to re read all the posts and do what they have suggested.

Im not really sure what more you want, I know your situation isn't ideal so its fair play to have a moan, but you can sit and wait it out till your LL sorts it out or you can take the advice above and do whats best for your family...
