Getting really cross now

OOh fingers crossed Olive!0

Thanks! Told by EA that we were exchanging on Friday but have learnt not to listen to anything they say!
Called sol and he said more likely to be today or tomorrow. Didn't happen today so hoping for tomorrow. Its a fairly long chain so by my count 6 sols all need to be at their desks at the same time to exchange. Could be a while before that happens! Not panicking at the moment. Really hope it all goes through ok...Quit smoking 12th July 07 :j0 -
I have my fingers crossed. These guys get paid sooo much money but they still mess around - it's not fair!!!0

Olive - although I haven't bought a house for years I always found that pester power is a good weapon. Just keep on to everyone and make a nuisance of yourself if you have to.
Eventually you'll get their a*se into gear.
If it takes long enough we may even be into a "correction" so you can renegotiate.

Good luck Olive - what a moronic EA.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0

Just the sort of comment I have come to expect from you sortofok! True enough, but I'd rather this whole experience was over as soon as poss. I will pester away, but it seems the top of the chain is impervious. They've had it their way all along, even down to the completion date, which we had all agreed on apart from him.
Melissa- the EA is the worst thing about this whole experience. Believe it or not the guy that called and had a go at me was the assisstant manager! I dread to think how bad their trainees are.Quit smoking 12th July 07 :j0 -
Find out who the manager is and put in a formal complaint.
I reckon if enough of us complain to the management/owners of LAs/EAs, we all might get better service.
That said, the last time I did this, I found out the director of my LA was bankrupt and operating illegally anyway!Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
Thanks Melissa, we are definately going to complain once all this is over with. The EA is one with a bad reputation, the subject of a recent thread in fact! The way they've talked to me is unbelievable. The pressure they put on me at the beginning organising the survey had me calling the bank every day. At the time, especially as a FTB, I thought it was what I had to do. If only I knew then what I know now I'd have told them to stuff it. Anyway, that's one reason I'll be glad when its all over.
They're so stupid as well, don't they realise that I'll be putting the flat up for sale in a few years time? I definately won't be using their services again, even as a buyer.Quit smoking 12th July 07 :j0 -
Olive - The times we are living in mean that some people's defining characteristic is how much their house is worth. Their whole existence revolves around it and they believe that this gives them the right to look down on anyone who doesn't own a more expensive house (i.e you and everyone else "below" them in the chain)
Welcome to modern day Britain. The price is right everyone. Come on down.
Yes people you too could own a squillion pound house and one day sh*t on those that don't. Don't worry that your children won't be able to afford the same because you couldn't when you were young either but you made it.
House price inflation will come to everyone's rescue.Whenthemusicstopsmakesureyou'renotleftstanding0 -
If we ever get to exchange it will be a miracle. Just spoke to my sol and asked him why we hadn't exchanged yet. Mr top of the chain is having a paddy about our deposit. We have £3000, which is all we have as we are getting a 100% mortgage. We told them this about 6 weeks ago, and we also told them that we would exchange and complete on the same day if that wasn't good enough. But this has all come up today. I'm really worried now. I understand that that's not a lot of money for someone selling a £500,000 house or whatever at the top of the chain, but theres not a lot of alternative. Has anyone else experienced this? My sol says he thinks it'll be alright as its gone so far now, but I don't know. :eek:Quit smoking 12th July 07 :j0
