eBay rant

Sorry I know this has been covered soooooo many times but why do sellers not just complete a npb process when bidders don't pay. I have a bidder now with really mixed feedback, all positive but quite a lot of false positives for non payment. If all of these sellers had completed a npb process then surely this buyer would not have been able to bid on my item as I have my settings set strictly

I believe it is fear rather than ignorance.

I did curse those sellers though on one at Christmas, dozens of false positives yet obviously no strikes as they got past my 2 strikes and no bids allowed rule.

  • I opened up a NPB case against someone a few weeks back but it still gave me the option to leave feedback? Only positive granted but for me the option was still there after the case had been opened

  • I always open an NPB, had one last month, left f/b before closing the case (seconds before). I miss the days when you could leave negs for buyers...

I think ebay are too lenient with NPB. As a buyer you have plenty of chances to confirm you are bidding on the right item, communicate with the seller, or raise a cancellation. If you bid and don't pay why are you allowed to carry on bidding on other items, and why can you not view the number of NPB strikes on someone's profile (after all sellers have an extended dashboard and start to worry when stars go below 4.7)?

Not all sellers are experienced/knowledgeable to block those with 2 strikes - if I could I would change mine to block those with 1 strike!

I had a NPB buy 6 items a couple of weeks ago. No response so I left 6 strikes but apparently only one will count because I left them all at the same time - it needed 7 days between them.

Yet my friend was left 7 negatives when a buyer was able to pay for 7 items but not pay for any postage and refused to do so. She rang Ebay who admitted it was a glitch but did nothing. Luckily the buyer really wanted the items so agreed to cancel the negatives after three weeks but was only able to cancel 6, that was the ebay limit. She paid the postage. My friends account was still restricted for ages.
