What are some reasons that Jobs, would start in October ? (interview accepted now )

I suspect the graduate entry thing is most likely - age discrimination laws now being in force, its harder to advertise for 21 year old graduates, but if you interview and fill the job now for October start, you are pretty likely only to get final year students who won't finish until June, then plan to have a few months blow out before starting work.Adventure before Dementia!0

Developed vetting for government jobs can take that long

Mine took three months - though that was more down to an HR Dept. c*ck-up than any specific vetting process - but Andy L is right; these things CAN take longer than what might be deemed 'normal'.
Whatever the case, good luck and best wishes for your future job, OP. x0 -
