Can you give me some reasons, why a job would start in October, that has been accepted now? (through the interview process which has been accepted in March)
1) the new contract might not be starting then
2) The company might be doing reshuffling, and other peoples contracts might ended then (in august)
other reasons?

It's a graduate scheme, and they want to train all their new recruits together rather than piecemeal.0

Why not just ask the employer ?
A bunch of randoms from the internet can only guess (as we do not even know the company or industry), only the employer will be able to give you the answer.0 -
They might only need you from that time
The company might be restocking their products
The company might start a new policy0 -

Is this job via an agency? It could be that no job actually exists and the agency is simply seeking to expand its data-base of prospective applicants.
Did you know when you applied for the job that the proposed start date was October? I have to say that advertising now for a position due to start in October seems like a complete waste of time to me - from the employers point of view - since there must be a high possibility that the person who is offered the position may have found alternative employment by then and not be available.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
