We stopped our Sky subscription a couple of months ago and have been happily watching just the free channels since then but it appears our Sky box died a death last weekend. It has one red light on now and no amount of cajoling will switch it to green. Our daughter is missing CBeebies so we need to get the free channels back. We are not in a Freeview area, and we don't want to buy another Sky box as we don't intend to subscribe again. Can we get a Freeivew box and connect it to the Sky satellite dish?
TIA

Click Here for "Adtrader" the online version of the yellow free ads. Enter your postcode & search for Sky Boxes, i'm syre you'll find them 10 a penny "So To Speak" on there.0

Have you tried unplugging it from the mains for at least 30 seconds to see if it will reset itself. Then try again.0

No you can't connect a terrestrial freeview box to accept a satellite signal, not without additional processing at least.
Probably worth looking on Ebay for a new sky box, there are loads on there sold cheaply all the time.0 -
Bought a Grundig Sky Digi box on ebay recently for 15 squid0

CBeebies is a FTA (free to air) channel and can be received on any digital satellite receiver.
You don't need to have a Sky digibox for this channel.
If you are a beginner it is recommended you use a sky digibox so you don't have to do any tuning, the programme guide does all that for you.
I personally have a Technomate FTA receiver bought from a trader on e-bay for about £60 brand new.
