ISA Transfer from Santander to Santander

I've just opened a Santander Direct Saver ISA (Issue 1), for the coming tax year.
I have a Santander Direct Saver ISA (Issue 9), for which the interest rate will plummet as of tomorrow (hence I opened new account with better rate).
What I'm not clear on - how do I transfer my Santander ISA savings to the new Santander ISA account? I received a transfer form with the application, but this is for transferring funds from another provider, not from within Santander.
I'm worried I'll not get a response from Santander quick enough before the new tax year starts, hence asking here. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

i just transfered my old santander isa to a new one and all they did was convert the account. it was instant , no paper work needed, and i got to keep the same account number and sort code.

Managed to do it all over the phone in under 5 minutes (after being on hold that is!)

just make sure you have your national insurance number with you and account details.

    regards

you have no emergency time limit to transfer the ISA - just make sure you have put all you can for this tax year into one of them - and then transfer to the 'better' one at your leisure - you have no issue transferring the funds - they are already within the umbrella.

If you wish to transfer an existing Santander cash ISA to another Santander cash ISA simply:

You can transfer from one Santander Isa to another in branch and there is an internal transfer form on the website. I am in same situation as you in that my direct ISA rate goes down tomorrow so I have an appointment in the branch for Saturday to open the new 2 year fixed one and will transfer the old one in. 3% is a pretty good rate from doing some research.

I followed the guidance on their web page for the new ISA product. It said if you are an existing customer and will wish to transfer a Santander ISA into this ISA, go into your branch or ring us.

I didn't want to ring them, but i thought it best to follow their guidance. My experience matched that of 'plunt'. Hardly any waiting time (although this was two weeks ago), didn't even need my NI number, all done quicker than I could drink my cup of tea.

If I was you, I would ignore the application you've already been sent, and just give them a call. Might want to wait for an 'off peak' slot though, given what day it is tomorrow!

I did exactly this just after 12pm when they were probably busy. I converted/transfered my existing Direct ISA to the new Direct ISA saver issue 1 and then added funds for this tax year. Took 9 minutes in total.

Thank you very much everyone, very helpful. I rang Santander (in true MSE fashion, not on the costly 0845 number but on the alternative 0800 5872764 as found on http://www.saynoto0870.com/).

While I wasn't able to make the transfer over the phone (not sure why since some of you were), the operator did direct me to the following link for an internal ISA transfer form, which I'm printing out and sending off to them once filled in.

PS: I didn't have to wait more than 30 seconds on hold to get through.

I "transferred" my ISA over the phone last year, kept the same account number etc.

This year tried to do the same with esaver, they got me to open a brand new one. Subsequently opened a 123 current account and raised thesaver issue, that person said I could have simply "transferred" that in the same way as the ISA last year.

I think it depends who you talk to and what they know.

    Can't fault their phone service.

Same can't be said for my "main" bank where they don't know their harris from their elbow.

If you have an existing Santander ISA they are upgraded not transferred this keeps the sort code and account number the same it takes 2 minutes.

Transferred 2 Isa's last year. Only took 5 mins to do. But at the time spent another 55mins having a 'review' on my savings etc.

Won't have that this year since the change of selling rules that have come in. :D
