Have rcvd request for Buy It Now price on an auction item

Hope that someone can help me out on this one please.

I'm selling an item at the moment and it's only 3 days into a 10 day listing.

I'd received two emails asking me if I've got a Buy It Now price and one of these parties has already placed a bid at the starting price.

The person who has not placed the bid has said that she wants it as doesn't want to wait another week for it to end.

Can anyone advise me how I'd go about this please. Any advice gratefully received.

TIA

I added a buy it now once easily to a listing. You should just be able to click on "revise listing" while looking at your item and scrolll to the add buy it now option, for another 6p.

    Hope that helps :)

If you want you can sell to the highest bidder, you can choose this option when you end the listing early. It is quite straight forward.
However personally I dont really like to end my listings early and if you have had two enquirys you might have a lot of intereasts and bids. It is up to you if you feel that the price they are willing to pay suits you. But the whole process is quite easy and it is under the options when you end it here - ( you will need the item number first)

Personally, I would ask how much they are willing to pay - it does no harm. If you think it is going to get the same or more than what they offer then tell them to bid as you want to keep it on. You can not add a BIN price once there are bids, so that rules that out. Just see what they say and if the offer is good, ask if they would like to do the purchase through an eBay BIN - most dont care but if you dont ask them it could end up going wrong and you might get in trouble for selling outside of ebay. And use Paypal to make it easier.

I agree with what has already been said but would also add that most items don't get bids until the last moment. The fact that you already have two interested parties might mean your item will really go to a bidding war at the end.

If you are sure about your price then go for an ebay offer, if not let the auction run and see what you get as you might be surprised.

  • Thanks Binxy but I can't add a BIN option as I've already got one bid and I can only add to the description.

Cat72, I only have one bid at the moment at the starting price which is very low. These items sell for about 10 times more than the price it's currently at so I wouldn't want to sell it at the current price.

Is there any way around this? Apols if the above sounds garbled!

    Thanks

You can either follow the link that Cat72 has helpfully posted and do an offer, but I think you would need the person to put a bid in first (I've not done one so I can't be sure, sorry).

Alternatively, remove the current bid from your item and then you can add a BIN price for an additional 6p. If you do that you run the risk of someone snatching the auction from the person you have arranged to buy it, or having your bIN stomped by someone before your preferred bidder can use the BIN.
