hi there,
really need help on this one, had a alliance & leicester credit card from 1999 to 2009, took it out when it was owned by a&l but was then sold on to mbna. santander now own or have took over the a&l credit card side of things and are responsible for the PPI.
i have an account number showing from 2000 up until the date the account was closed on my credit report, showing mbna were the bank creditor (account was closed when they were creditor so thats why thery are listed), however satander are saying i need to send them proof of an account number for the a&l card, surely the one on my credit rating and the one i have given them is good enough, im guessing there trying to fob me off !!!
please somebody help me out.
cheers, malc

I thought MBNA had responsibility for the credit cards from A&L. Have you complained to them?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

yes, they have confirmed I DID have ppi but as they were not the ones who sold it me they were not responsible, they passes it on to santander or a&l, I have all the proof just dont know who to go to, seem to be getting passed about a little0

A&L sold it to you, so Santander are looking for evidence it was sold by them, which is reasonable, otherwise you might be trying to complain about a card that wasn't sold by A&L but by someone else.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

absolutely, just cant get my head round if I have given them account and card number from a&l how its not what they need, I am doing a 'sar', as im told they have to submit all my credit info I have ever held with them, hopefully this will help with process0
