Bought mattress protector, and it turn out not standard size. Could I refund?

I bought mattress protector on last saturday.
I opened and bin the package & washed it. However, when I try to fit it to standard double bed and realize it won't fit.
I measure it up, it is with size of 170cm x 120cm. It is not even a standard size of any kind.
I pretty sure it say double on the package. But the reciept didn't say the size nor the label on the protector
Do you think I stand a chance to get any refund as I don't have packaging and washed it already?
It is only £5.99 as clearance stock. I am not sure if it worth the jounery as it would takes me 40 mins in total to and from by bus.

Could it have shrunk in the wash perhaps?0

Could it have shrunk in the wash perhaps?
not 15 cm each side. Standard double would be 135 x 190.
I use 30 degree wash. No turmble dryer.
If it is 120 x 190, fair enough, I might just pick the wrong pack of small double. However, there is nothing with lengh of 170 in any standard size bed.0 -

Why not? How can you prove you didn't shrink it?0 -
Maybe not 15cm on each side, but your measurements seem to show a shrinkage of 15cm over the width.not 15 cm each side. Standard double would be 135 x 190.

A shrinkage of 20cm over the length would be of roughly the same proportion.0 -

I don't see your point. If it shrinks that much after one wash so that it no longer fits the bed, it's clearly not fit for purpose. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
For £5.99 I would cut my losses and forget about it. Especially if I had no packaging, had washed it and had a 40min bus journey to return it!
