Reached Max Following on Twitter - Help!

Totally inspired by this thread, I've just gone through my list of those I was following and unfollowed most of 'em. It felt great - probably took about 45 mins.
I kept the few - very few- that I actually want to follow, as well as some I recognise from recent comps.
I know it's a tiny risk because if I've unfollowed someone and I win a prize, it might disqualify me. But most will be RC comps, so I can refollow when I do my dailies later.
I've been comping for probably around three years now. So to clear out like this once every three years is probably worth it.
Thanks guys :T

I use the manageflitter app as posted above, let it work its magic, make sure it's set to 'Not Following Back' on the left, then click 'Order' then 'Follow Order' to reverse it so the oldest ones are top of the list.
You can sort it by many other ways, but I find 'Follow Order' works best for me.Golly, I've got the newt pregnant...

Argh, Just been told on Twitter I'm following too many pages, I'm on 2000, can anyone recommend the best way of culling my list of followings?...0

http://www.manageflitter.com/
Lets you unfollow 100 people a day.
You can search by people who aren't following you/who have inactive profiles/and by who you started following first.0 -
Thanks a lot!0

thanks purple_x got rid of 100 !!0

You can do it manually too. Just keep clicking show more, then see the tweets they have done, it's more reliable than doing it through a 3rd party. I'm going to cut a load down before christmas! :P xxxDecember Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0

I'm really struggling to remove accounts now, I have gone through inactive, and ones that haven't tweeted for more than a month, now I'm on 2000 and can't really remove any without risking being disqualified from a comp because I'm not following them.0

In that situation, I would unfollow the ones that I first followed several months ago, unless I know that I want to keep following them because they run regular competitions, or are fellow compers.0

Not that anyone should do such a thing, but a second comping email address and twitter account?0
